Ramon Rodriguez

Founding Partner & Managing Member

Born and raised in El Paso, Ramon knows what it means to be an El Pasoan, and what it means to fight for what you believe in. Like so many other El Pasoans, Ramon's family and heritage are as Mexican as the desert sun is bright. The fighting El Paso spirit, and a work ethic passed down from generations of Chihuahuan desert farmers, gave Ramon everything he needed to become the advocate he is today.

In nearly nine years of practice, Ramon has been involved in a number of cases that garnered media attention. Fresh out of law school in 2013, Ramon worked at Davis, Cedillo & Mendoza in San Antonio, Texas, a leader in civil litigation in South Texas.

While at DCM, Ramon assisted in a case involving the Church of Scientology and Marty Rathburn. Footage of Ramon's old boss, Ricardo Cedillo, can be seen in HBO's documentary, Going Clear. Besides the Church of Scientology case, the firm that Ramon worked for exposed him to cases involving the Catholic Church through the Archdiocese of San Antonio, AT&T, Audi, and many other clients with complex commercial disputes, including multiple attorneys. Most of the litigation Ramon handled was commercial in nature, but he also worked on insurance defense cases, and was heavily involved in defending multiple cases involving serious, life-threatening injuries. Working on behalf of corporate entities at the behest of insurance companies made him realize he was on the wrong side of bar.

In 2015, Ramon opened his own practice in the Dallas metropolitan area, focused primarily on civil disputes. Working independently allowed Ramon the flexibility to work on a wide variety of cases. One such case, which was covered by the Dallas CBS affiliate, involved the education code and issues of residency. Another case that touched and concerned issues important to Ramon, such as poverty and the treatment of the disenfranchised, involved issues regarding the first amendment. In another case, Ramon found himself squaring off against Taylor Swift's counsel on Long Island, New York over issues involving trademark infringement. There were many other matters that Ramon handled that received no publicity, but he has always made sure to pay equal attention to all of his cases no matter how big or small.

This wide array of experiences has provided Ramon many opportunities to became familiar with the Rules of Civil Procedure, both in Texas courts and federal courts. Since starting law school, Ramon tried three jury trials, one criminal and two civil. Ramon has tried over 25 bench trials to judgment, in federal court, administrative court, and Texas state courts. Ramon intends to bring this wide array of experience to El Paso to assist the people of El Paso in need of representation.

Ramon graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Colorado, with minors in business and philosophy. After college graduation, Ramon received a Mensa eligible LSAT score of 169 and was accepted to University of Texas School of Law.

He began his litigation career in the administrative courtrooms of the United States Immigration Courts under the supervision of UT faculty. Ramon was also an Articles Editor for the Texas International Law Journal. During his time in Austin, Ramon interned with the Honorable Justice Dale Wainwright of the Supreme Court of Texas.

Today, Ramon is Of Counsel to Sullivan, Stolier & Schulze (“SSS”) of Louisiana, where he assists clients with litigation matters as well as advising clients on issues related to healthcare. SSS its a premier healthcare law firm that assists a wide variety of healthcare entities and organizations manage the myriad of healthcare laws and regulations.

When he is not working, Ramon spends his time with his loving wife, dog and family watching Cowboys football and eating delicious food made by his mother and grandmothers. He also spends an inordinate amount of time on Reddit. Thankfully, he is passionate about his work where he expends most, if not all, of his energy and attention on work.
